Melissa Malzkuhn, 26, is from California, USA. She has a M.A. in Cultural Studies, under the ASL and Deaf Studies Department at Gallaudet University. She also has a B.A. degree in Communications from Gallaudet, as well as a graduate certificate in Deaf History.

Melissa works at the Science of Learning Center, Visual Language and Visual Learning. She specializes in publicity, design, and website work. In addition to that, Melissa is also leading the efforts in establishing the first deaf youth organisation in America, called Deaf Youth USA. Melissa comes from a 3rd generation Deaf family.

As secretary, Melissa is responsible for all the correspondence, documents, meeting minutes, and internal communication systems. Melissa works on the WFDYS website, and helps organise future meetings.
